According to a new report, Taylor Swift may actually be getting ready to release new music this month. Swift released Reputation two years ago, meaning that fans are beginning to prepare for a brand new record from their favorite pop star.
Moreover, there is typically a two-year gap between her albums, adding more fuel to the fire. The 29-year-old pop star posted an image on her Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook accounts with the mysterious message, “4.26.” She also promoted a URL, “apriltwentysix.com,” which directs users to her official domain.
Her website features also a countdown clock that slowly counts down from the 26th of April. As it was previously reported, Taylor released new tracks in 2018, “Getaway Car,” “Delicate,” as well as the song, “Gorgeous,” all from her record, Reputation.
Likely as a way of self-promotion, the singer/songwriter wrote an essay called, 30 Things I Learned Before Turning 30, for Elle’s April issue. The star revealed she uses a countdown clock to mark dates in the future she’s excited about. It helps her deal with stress and other “dark” and “low” times.

After a long tour in support of her latest record, the aforementioned Reputation, Taylor has been more active in the media spotlight, including one incident before the mid-terms where she promoted voting among her fans and followers.
Reportedly, the country-turned-pop star sparked a wave of voter registration in her state of origin, Tennessee. Taylor took to her social media as well to voice political support for certain candidates over others, for reasons which she described as being more in tune with her “Tennessee values.”
While the critical and fan reception for her last album wasn’t quite as positive as 2014’s 1989, Taylor’s concert turnout was massive. Her 2018 tour for Reputation earned approximately $345,000,000 in revenue and was her most successful one to date.

It was also the 13th highest grossing tour of all time, and one of the first performances in Texas was filmed and made into a concert movie for Netflix.
